DAVIS STUART

Community Based Programs


Provides young people the opportunity to develop in a community based, family environment. There are four homes with a total capacity of 24 residents. Referrals are accepted through the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources. Program highlights include:
     • Individualized treatment planning & supportive counseling
     • Utilization of House Parent model to providing a more consistent family atmosphere
     • Supportive environment to help residents adjust to maintaining positive and constructive habits in a         community setting
     • Attendance of local public school or an equivalent
     • Monthly visits with family provided, if applicable
     • Participation in many community events and activities such as sports, youth groups, and charitable         opportunities

PRINCETON 

     • Capacity of 6 males
     • Therapy services provided by local mental health professionals within the community
     • Residents attend Princeton High School or Princeton Middle School
     • GED Program available through Mercer County Workforce Office
     • Vocational education and night classes available through Princeton High School
     • Ability to attend Bluefield State College while maintaining residence in the group home
     • Local library within walking distance
     • Located near many recreational activities including City Park, four additional community parks, pool,         recreation center and numerous recreational programs and activities
     • Mercer County - Rated among top 100 communities for youth by America’s Promise –The Alliance for         Youth 


BLUEFIELD

     • Capacity of 6 females
     • Therapy services provided by local mental health professionals within the community
     • Residents attend Bluefield High School or Bluefield Middle School
     • GED Program available through Mercer County Workforce Office
     • Vocational education and night classes available through Princeton High School
     • Ability to attend Bluefield State College while maintaining residence in the group home
     • Exercise trail, Olympic-size pool with waterslide, picnic facilities, gymnasium, playgrounds and skate park         available in Bluefield community
     • Mercer County - Rated among top 100 communities for youth by America’s Promise –The Alliance for         Youth


BECKLEY

     • Capacity of 6 males
     • Provides a supportive environment where youth learn to maintain their sobriety while functioning in a         community setting, after transitioning from an intensive substance abuse treatment program
     • Therapy services provided by local mental health professionals within the community, including the         following services with FMRS Health Systems, Inc.
               • ADAPT Program
               • Substance Abuse Classes
     • Volunteerism and Community Service opportunities with local organizations including the Salvation Army         and Beckley Convention Center
     • Membership to Beckley-Raleigh County YMCA
     • Community of Beckley provides many recreational activities including multiple parks and pools, the Youth         Museum, Exhibition Coal Mine, Freedom Skate Park and Little Beaver State Park nearby


ALICIA MCCORMICK HOUSE - MAXWELTON

     • Capacity of 6 females
     • Therapy services provided by local mental health professionals within the community
     • Residents attend Greenbrier East High School or Eastern Greenbrier Middle School
     • Opportunity to participate in both school-based and recreational team sports
     • Ability to attend New River Community and Technical College while maintaining residence in the group         home
     • Access to city of Lewisburg which has many cultural attractions including Greenbrier Valley Theatre,         Carnegie Hall, and Trillium Performing Arts center.
     • Active relationship with local churches and civic organizations such as youth groups, Ruritan and Elks         Club
     • Aftercare services available in Greenbrier County area through Home Base, Inc
