Lewisburg Campus

Located in a rural, farm-like setting, the Lewisburg campus provides a full-service co-education, residential treatment program for up to 44 youth. Davis Stuart serves youth ages 12-18. Referrals are accepted through the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources. 

Our administrative offices are located on Davis Stuart Road, approximately 4 miles outside of Lewisburg.


Residential treatment focusing on increased coping skills, effective interactions with others, and family reunification and/or independence.

• Appropriate staff/resident relationships focused on building trust
• Low resident/staff ratio
• 8-10 residents per cottage (44 licensed beds)
• Family-style dining
• Supervised self-administration of medications
• Group supportive counseling
• Ansel-Casey Life Skills Assessment
• Structured study time
• Daily housekeeping and assigned chores

• Monitoring of health and medications by nursing staff – 2 RNs, 1 LPN – on call 24/7
• Coordination of specialized care
• Weekly on-site medical clinic
• Bi-monthly on-site psychiatric clinic

• Structured, supervised work program designed to teach responsibility and good work habits
• Subsidized on-the-job training in the community
• Money Management Program

• Utilization of on-site facilities to include: gymnasium, outdoor heated swimming pool, grass track, volleyball        court, horseshoe pit, picnic facilities
• Easy access to nearby rivers and lakes for boating and fishing
• Close proximity to hiking trails and camping facilities
• Social recreational activities including board games, puzzles, cards, arts and crafts, and holiday festivities


• 3 Masters level therapists and licensed psychologist offer many years of experience
  in a variety of areas, including:
        - In-home counseling services
        - Human growth and development
        - Experiential therapy techniques and programs
• Therapists provide individual and group-style therapy
        - Mandatory groups include: Substance Awareness, Anger Management,
           Bullying, Fitness, Sex Education, and Suicide/Self-Harm
        - Optional groups include: Spiritual Life, Equine Therapy, Drumming, Archery,
           Arts and Crafts
• Equine Therapy Program facilitated by a master level therapist with EAGALA certification
        - Enables residents to explore and evaluate their behavior, learn about choices and consequences,
           and develop skills for more successful relationship building
        - Basic horsemanship skills taught
• Individualized treatment planning
• Service Coordinators are on staff to manage each resident’s care and ensure the provision of active
  and integrated treatment
        - Upon reaching permanency or independence, Service Coordinators link the youth to services
          within their home community
• When appropriate, Davis-Stuart provides for one home visit per month to support successful
  family reunification. 
• On-campus family visitation offered typically the first Sunday of each Month.
