RECEIVE TAX CREDITS FOR YOUR DONATION

Davis Stuart is delighted to announce that we have been awarded $5,000.00 in tax credits through the Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP).  NIP was created in 1996 to increase charitable giving of organizations like Davis Stuart to serve low-income persons in highly distressed neighborhoods. Businesses and individuals who contribute a minimum of $500.00 to Davis Stuart are eligible to receive up to 50 percent of the contributed amount in the form of state tax credits. You, the investor, may use the credits to reduce liability for the following West Virginia taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax, Business Franchise Tax, and Personal Income Tax. These credits go fast, make an investment TODAY!

PROJECTS

We encourage investors to specify which program(s) they wish to support.

  • Day-to-day operations -Support our general budget! Unlike other non-profits, that only designate a portion of your donation to their cause, 100% of your investment goes right back to improving the lives of the teens and families in our care.

  • Community Based Program -Davis Stuart operates three community based homes in Bluefield, Maxwelton, and Princeton. Bluefield and Princeton serve boys and Maxwelton serves girls.

  • Spiritual Life Program -Christ-centered, spiritual growth opportunities for youth throughout the year.

  • Equine Assisted Therapy Program -Enables teens to explore and evaluate their behavior, learn about choices and consequences, and develop skills for more successful relationship building.

  • Employment Preparation Program -Residents are taught responsibility and the importance of developing their skills, maintaining honesty, following directives, and money management. Residents are paid an hourly wage by Davis Stuart for the work performed.

  • Special Activities (include but not limited to) -African drumming, archery, recreation, 'family' fun nights, vacations, etc.

  • Building Repairs -The average age of Davis Stuart facilities is 72 years. Much of our focus is geared toward maintaining and repairing our properties. If you would like to help in this way, indicate on your donation by writing 'Building Repair'.

CENTRALIZED DINING FACILITY

On October 27th, 2017, Davis Stuart broke ground on our centralized dining facility. The new dining hall will seat 100 people, will cover 5,364 square feet, and be multi-functional. Family-style dining will still be emphasized but the dining hall will also have the capabilities to serve cafeteria style when needed for large groups. The dining hall will also be used from group meetings, movie nights, and other large events. A projector screen will be installed to accommodate such occasions. The kitchen will have a central work area in order to teach food prep to the residents. Hopefully, we can incorporate an outside grill for delicious meals in the warmer months.

We can not complete this project without you! You can make an everlasting contribution to Davis Stuart and the new dining hall by purchasing a brick with a special message. This is a great way to honor a loved one or keep your legacy alive for the next 98 years!
